Simplified MySuper.
Designed to work for your future.
Australians are living longer and spending more time in retirement than ever before.
Following a review of our MySuper LifeStage investment option, we're introducing a simpler design and increasing exposure to growth assets for younger members.
We’re also reducing total fees and costs for most members.
These changes are designed to:
Simplify the investment structure
Support the retirement needs of today’s workers, taking longevity into account
Support long-term retirement outcomes
Keep fees fair, transparent and aligned with the cost of managing the fund
From 14 August 2026, our MySuper investment option will move from the current smartMonday LifeCycle design to a simpler four-stage structure called smartMonday LifeStage (MySuper).
Your investment mix will continue to change as you move through different life stages, but through a simpler structure that's easier to understand and designed to support today’s retirement journey.
As you get older, the allocation to defensive assets gradually increases to help reduce the risk of capital loss as you approach and move through retirement.
If you're currently invested in smartMonday LifeCycle (MySuper), you'll be automatically moved to the appropriate LifeStage option based on your age from 14 August 2026. You don’t have to take any action.
Changes to fees and costs
We're making a number of changes to fees and costs from 14 August 2026. These changes apply to most members, but some members have different fee arrangements through their employer. Please check the Significant Event Notice sent to you for details relevant to your account.
Administration fees
✓ Annual administration fee reduced from $72.00 to $67.60
✓ Percentage-based administration fee reduced from 0.29% to 0.16% per year
✓ New $1,000 annual cap on the percentage-based administration fee
Investment fees
Investment fees and costs will increase across most investment options, while fees for the Cash option will decrease.
For many members, lower administration fees are expected to offset some or all of these increases. The overall impact will vary depending on your account balance and investment option.
A clearer MySuper structure with four life stages and fewer, more predictable changes to your investments.
Higher allocations to growth assets for younger members, reflecting modern retirement patterns, increased longevity and the likelihood that members remain invested well into retirement.
If you're invested in smartMonday LifeCycle (MySuper), your account will automatically transition to the new LifeStage structure from 14 August 2026.

Why is smartMonday making these changes?
We're making these changes to simplify our MySuper investment option, improve member understanding, better reflect modern retirement patterns and keep fees fair, transparent and aligned with the cost of managing the fund. The changes are also designed to support long-term member outcomes.
Do I need to do anything?
No. If you're invested in smartMonday LifeCycle (MySuper), the changes will happen automatically. We encourage you to read your Significant Event Notice and consider whether your current investment option remains appropriate for your circumstances.
When do these changes take effect?
The MySuper and fee changes take effect on 14 August 2026.
How do I know if I'm affected?
All smartMonday accounts are impacted in some way. You will receive a Significant Event Notice (SEN), via email or post, which will confirm how your account is impacted by these changes. It’s important to read this notice.
Will these changes affect my super balance?
The changes may affect the fees deducted from your account and, for MySuper members, the way your investments are allocated. The overall impact will vary depending on your account balance, age and investment option. Refer to the Significant Event Notice for more specific information relevant to your account.
What is MySuper?
MySuper is a simple, diversified investment offering designed for members who have not chosen their own investment option. It is a default option, so it’s the option members automatically land in when they join smartMonday through their employer and don’t make an active choice about their investment option.
What is changing in the smartMonday MySuper option?
The current smartMonday LifeCycle (MySuper) investment option is being replaced by a simpler four-stage structure called smartMonday LifeStage (MySuper). The new LifeStage MySuper option automatically adjusts the strategic asset allocation at four different ages. It’s designed to have a higher allocation to growth assets during your working life, with a more defensive position being taken as members get closer to retirement.
Why are you changing the MySuper investment design?
We know retirement has changed. People are living longer, working longer and enjoying longer retirements. We’ve updated the MySuper offering in line with members’ best financial interests. We’re also making it easier for you to understand your investments by simplifying the LifeStage offering into four clear LifeStages.
What is smartMonday LifeStage (MySuper)?
smartMonday LifeStage (MySuper) is the new MySuper investment option. It uses four age-based life stages, with investment allocations that automatically adjust as members get older.
What happens to my existing MySuper investment?
If you're currently invested in smartMonday LifeCycle (MySuper), your investment will automatically transition to the appropriate LifeStage investment based on your age.
Will I be moved automatically to the new LifeStage option?
Yes. If you're invested in smartMonday LifeCycle (MySuper), you'll be automatically moved to the relevant LifeStage option from 14 August 2026.
How will my investments change under the new LifeStage design?
The new structure has four age-based groups:
As members get older, exposure to defensive assets increases to help reduce the risk of capital loss approaching and during retirement.
Why are younger members being invested in more growth assets?
Growth assets can experience more short-term ups and downs, but they also have the potential to deliver higher returns over the long term. The updated MySuper design recognises that younger members generally have many years before they need to access their super and are therefore better placed to ride out periods of market volatility. By allocating more to growth assets for longer, the new design aims to give members greater opportunities to grow their super over the long term and support stronger retirement outcomes.
Can I stay in the current smartMonday LifeCycle (MySuper) option?
No. The current smartMonday LifeCycle (MySuper) option is being replaced by smartMonday LifeStage (MySuper).
Can I choose a different investment option instead?
Yes. Members can choose from the other investment options available through smartMonday if they prefer an alternative investment strategy.
Will these changes affect my investment returns?
Investment returns cannot be guaranteed. The updated LifeStage design is intended to support long-term retirement outcomes by providing a more appropriate balance between growth and defensive assets at different ages. Superannuation is a long term investment and the minimum suggested investment timeframe for the LifeStage MySuper product is 5 years.
Are my fees increasing or decreasing?
For most members, administration fees are decreasing. Investment fees and costs are increasing across most investment options, while fees for the Cash option are decreasing. The overall impact will vary depending on your account balance and investment choice. Please refer to the Significant Event Notice you received for more specific information on how your account is affected.
What is changing with administration fees?
The annual dollar-based administration fee is reducing from $72.00 to $67.60. The percentage-based administration fee is reducing from 0.29% to 0.16% per year for most super members.
What is the new $1,000 administration fee cap and how does it work?
From 14 August 2026, a cap will apply to the percentage-based administration fee. This means you'll never pay more than $1,000 per year in this fee, regardless of your account balance.
Why are investment fees increasing?
Investment fees and costs are being updated to better reflect the current cost of managing investments and administering the fund. These changes are intended to support the long-term sustainability of the fund and member outcomes.
What if I can't attend the webinar?
A recording of the webinar will be uploaded to the smartMonday website after the event so you can watch it at a time that suits you. You can also register for the webinar even if you can’t make it, and we’ll send you a link to the recording after the event.
How can I find out what these changes mean for my account?
