How to view your statements, balance and performance online
Reviewing your superannuation regularly is one of the best ways to track its progress and take ownership of it. The easiest way to do this is online, by accessing your personal smartMonday homepage.
“We designed these homepages for members to be very simple and straightforward. All the details members need to know, such as their insurance coverage and how their super is invested and performing, is there,” says smartMonday head smartCoach Matt Davey.
“The three most common things we’re asked by members is how to view their annual statement, check their super balance and review investment performance – all of that is available at a glance on their personal homepage.

Your annual statement is the official yearly communication about your superannuation account. It shows your closing balance for the financial year, contributions and other transactions, what insurance you have, fees and costs, etc. Having all this information in one place can help you get a clear picture of where your super is at and manage any tax and other financial obligations.

View your balance and performance online
Your current total superannuation balance is the big, bold, unmissable number at the top of your personal smartMonday homepage.
The performance of your investments can be seen in the ‘investments’ section in the centre of your personal homepage. It displays a circle showing how your investments are allocated with your investment option(s) listed alongside – you can click on each of these to see their details.
This section of your page has three tabs showing your investment ‘allocations’, and ‘returns’ which can be viewed over different time ‘periods’.
It’s the ‘returns’ tab that best indicates performance. Each option you are invested in (and for most that will be only one option) will be listed showing how it’s performed. You can look at this performance over the past month or up to 10 years (or many periods in between) by clicking on the down arrow next to the ‘Period’ tab and choosing a time span.

A note on investment performance
“You may notice that your super balance can change every day. That’s because your super is invested in shares and other assets that change in value very often,” explains Davey.
“It can be concerning to see that balance fluctuate by sometimes considerable amounts. What matters is how you react. It’s important with super to focus on the long term: we have some guidance on what to do if your super has fallen.”
