Why mental wellness matters
MetLife’s research shows that mental strain is affecting Australians at work. They found that, of those impacted by mental strain:
63% feel drained most of the time
52% feel distracted
46% feel overwhelmed with work
40% feel easily irritated by small problems
38% feel mentally checked out
Mental strain doesn’t always mean a diagnosis. Research aside, it can be the cumulative effect of juggling responsibilities, navigating uncertainty, and trying to stay on top of everything at once. Just maybe, the issue isn’t the person or their mind – it’s modern life.
And yet at the same time, many people delay seeking support due to cost, stigma or difficulty accessing the right provider.
63% cite cost of consultations
34% mention stigma or embarrassment
30% struggle to find a knowledgeable healthcare provider
What’s included in Mental Wellness?
People experience mental health challenges in different ways – and need different kinds of support at different times. Some need clinical care, while others need practical, preventative support to help manage everyday pressure before it escalates.

How to choose the right Mental Wellness service for you or your family member.
Still unsure? The intake process will guide you to the most appropriate support.
Getting started is simple:
Book a consultation and select either the Coaching Program or Mental Health Assist
Receive a call back within two business days from Teladoc Health to book your first consultation with a mental health expert.
All services are delivered virtually, securely and privately. You can access multiple services if needed or choose another service after completing one.
How to use the Coaching Program
The new Coaching Program focuses on early, preventative support for managing day-to-day stress and burnout. You’ll be connected with a qualified mental health expert through Teladoc Health and together, you’ll choose up to three focus areas that reflect your priority areas, such as:
Rest & Recover – improving sleep, restoring energy and preventing burnout
Boundaries & Balance – managing workload, expectations and mental load
Building a healthy relationship with self – addressing unhelpful thinking patterns
Relationship resilience & connectedness – strengthening communication and support networks
Tolerating & transforming stress – building stability during uncertain times
You’ll then take part in three structured sessions focused on identifying your goals and developing practical strategies that fit your situation. After completing the program, you’ll receive a personalised summary outlining your goals and suggested next steps. If you need ongoing support, you can return to the service as needed.
This is guided, nonclinical support designed to help you build practical tools, confidence and resilience in everyday life.
